Suzuki Hojicha

Mr Suzuki is a young exciting tea farmer who has specialised in unusual tea including his wonderful hojicha of which this is our favourite. His tiny couple of acre farm is in a mountainous part of the Shinshiro area of Aichi Prefecture. The high altitude (500 metres above sea level) makes the climate great for growing tea as the temperature differs greatly between morning and evening. He lovingly nurtures the tea which grows next to his house without pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

Due to the roasting and the high percentage of twig in the blend, this hojicha has less caffeine than many other green teas and would be suitable to drink in the evening or after a meal.
