Yunomi 01 (Golden Tea)

£75.00

A pottery yunomi handmade by Noritada Kimura, a great Kyoto potter.

As a Kyoto potter Noritada has a freedom to make ceramics in many different styles, and this is his take on the famous Hagi-yaki which originates in Hagi in Yamaguchi prefecture. This beautiful yunomi is very similar in colour to his usual Hagi cup but completely different otherwise, with a smooth texture, no inclusions and no slip glaze. Instead it is thin and refined, with little bubbles on the surface and a glaze that is faintly reflective in a similar way to some tenmoku and tea dust cups.

We have four similar cups in this glaze – for more pictures, please contact us.

Dimension: 8cm height x 8.5cm diameter. Volume: ~240ml. Weight: 170g.
