Teapot (Brown Mishima)

£240.00

A handmade, glazed pottery teapot handmade by Noritada Kimura, a great Kyoto potter.

Made in a new version of his Mishima style, this pot is made by inlaying a slip glaze, with the glaze scraped away with a tool to create a brown and white wave pattern. The pot is heavier in the hand than the regular Mishima versions and has a rough, textured surface. The lid and spout of the pot is smoother than the body, with the same crackled white glaze as the wave pattern.

As functional as they are beautiful, these are some of the best teapots we have come across in 25 years of working in Japan.

Dimensions:  14cm height x 19cm diameter from spout to handle  Volume: ~650mls. Weight: 500g.
