Teapot (Blue Mishima)

A handmade, glazed pottery teapot from Kimura Noritada, a great Kyoto potter.

Made in the Mishima style this cup is made by inlaying a slip glaze, with the glaze scraped away with a tool to create a fine blue and white wave pattern. The glaze on the outside of the pot is complex with pools of white, indigo and brown colours with some crackling. Like all of Noritada’s teapots, it is finished with a handmade wisteria wood handle.

As functional as they are beautiful, these are some of the best teapots we have come across in 25 years of working in Japan.

Dimensions: 14cm height x 14cm diameter (not inc. handle). Volume: ~450ml

Please note – all cups are sold individually and are individual pieces, so if there is a certain cup you would like or if you would like to look at our whole selection please email us at info@postcardteas.com.
