Tea Master Teas

Tea Master Teas are from people who have produce teas that are legendary or in some way unlike anyone else’s. So the list includes tea makers who have had the honour of making historic Chinese tribute teas like Mother Tree Da Hong Pao and the 18 Long Jing trees selected by Emperor Qianlong, or Japanese makers who make a tea designated as Intangible Cultural Heritage or tea especially selected for the Emperor of Japan. We have also included people who have changed the way we think about tea like Master Matsumoto who has been growing tea without any fertilizers (organic or chemical) for many years. The title Master is a title we carefully use so even Mr Hsieh who makes sublime oolongs and one of the best black teas in Taiwan is unlikely to qualify for the title under our strict criteria.
